Release of GEDM V1.0 – Feb 15, 2026
GEDM V1.0 models the local distribution of 6 panethnic groups – Asian, Black/Afro-Decendent, Indigenous American, Mestizo/Mixed, White/European, and Other – for the United States, Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand at the 250m grid cell level.

Potential future releases
GEDM V1.1 (in progress)
- GEDM V1.1 will incorporate a layer displaying urban area boundaries and summary statistics for each urban area.
GEDM V2.0 (in progress)
- GEDM V2.0 will further dis-aggregate groups in V1.0 countries to 9 groups – East or Central Asian; Southeast Asian; South Asian; Black/Afro-Descendent; Indigenous American; Mestizo/Mixed White-Indigenous; White/European; Middle Eastern or North African; and Remainder.
GEDM V2.1 (in progress)
- GEDM V2.1 will expand the V2.0 model to include most countries in the Americas, and selected countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Further planned releases will expand the model globally.
